Tequila Atanasio
At the foothills of the volcano, you don’t just taste tequila — you experience its full cycle, from planting agave to holding the finished spirit in your hands.
At the foothills of the volcano, you don’t just taste tequila — you experience its full cycle, from planting agave to holding the finished spirit in your hands.
Tequila Atanasio is rooted in the legacy of “El Tío Atanasio,” a man who lived to be 103 years old. His phrase still echoes in the village: “A daily sip of mezcal never hurt anyone.”
The name means “immortal.” And that idea defines this house.
Here, tequila begins long before the bottle. You walk the fields, understand the care behind each plant, follow the transformation inside the distillery, and witness how a spirit takes shape — until you hold it in your own hands.
From agave fields to bottle — Atanasio invites you to experience the full journey, not just the final sip.
Stainless Steel Autoclave
Agaves are pressure-cooked in a sealed stainless steel autoclave, ensuring complete sugar conversion while preserving pure, unaltered agave flavor.
Manual Precision
Cooked fibers are repeatedly passed through a traditional roller mill
Open & Natural
Fermented in stainless steel tanks without commercial yeast, allowing native valley microorganisms to shape each unique batch.
Clean Double Distillation
Precise cuts isolate only the heart of the spirit, producing a smooth, clean finish without harshness.
