Tequila El Viejito was founded in 1937 by Don Indalecio Núñez Muro, long before tequila became a global industry. From the beginning, it was never just a business it was a family responsibility.
For decades, the Núñez family chose not to export their tequila. Not because they couldn’t, but because trust mattered more than expansion.

How Tradition Endures
Highland Agave Selection
Mature blue agave from the Highlands is harvested by hand, preserving the rich sugar concentration that defines the region.
Brick Oven Cooking
The agave cooks slowly in traditional masonry ovens, allowing natural sugars to develop depth and balance.
Gentle Juice Extraction
Cooked agave is milled to extract its natural juices while preserving the plant’s character and sweetness.
Open-Air Fermentation
Natural fermentation takes place in open environments, allowing the local climate and microflora to shape the final spirit.
Copper Still Precision
Distilled in copper pot stills, refining the tequila while maintaining the agave’s clean and expressive character.
